Solarinstallers.org.za is a directory for legitimate Solar Professionals in Southern Africa. Clients, especially end-users are (and rightly should be) increasingly concerned about which solar installer and products they choose. We have created a comprehensive, informative space where clients can check the credentials of all legitimate installers. The use of our directory is free of charge to the public, and any solar service providers may publish basic listings for free, thus no legitimate installers or related solar practitioners are excluded.
We provide resources and information to clients, service providers and other stakeholders in the industry. Anyone interested in contributing information and guidance to be shared publicly, are invited to contact us. We are not a verification service for qualifications nor registrations, but we welcome collaboration from any associations and industry bodies who focus on these services.
As a concerned and affected organization, we take the credibility of the solar industry in South Africa seriously. The recent erosion of the market due to illegitimate products and practitioners is a problem worth addressing. At the same time, the barriers of entry into our industry for persons who are indeed committed to working towards compliance, also require a solution. We are passionate about improving industry-wide compliance to codes & regulations, manufacturer recommendations and industry best practice.
We are not aligned exclusively to any single association, nor do we act as an association, but instead we aim to be objective, inclusive and supportive of all interested parties. Instead of purely finding reasons to exclude anyone from our industry, we ask how we can connect service providers with different strengths, skills and qualifications, in order to improve the quality of service and products delivered across the entire Solar industry. A balance between collaboration and competition is important for the health of our industry and micro-economy, and ensuring our end-user clients receive fair service and pricing.
